Satoshi was appointed President of JACOS in June 2017 after holding the position of Executive Vice President which he began in July 2013. He has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He is a member of the Board of Directors of CANOS, the Japanese subsidiary of JAPEX in Tokyo which holds 100% of the shares of JACOS. Prior to joining JACOS, Satoshi served as General Manager of Canada Oil Sands Project Department and Executive Secretary Department of JAPEX successively. He was also involved in North America and Central Asia projects of JAPEX and served as Treasurer of JAPEX (U.S.) Corp. in Houston. Satoshi started his career in human resources and developed his general administration and project coordination background thereafter.
Satoshi has a Bachelor of Economics degree from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo.
Brian was appointed Executive Vice President of JACOS in March 2011. He joined JACOS in November 2001 as Manager, Operations and Development, and has held successively more responsible positions leading to his current role. Prior to joining JACOS, he held positions in corporate planning, operations, joint ventures and projects with Imperial Oil. He has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with 20 years focused on development of the Athabasca oil sands. He has extensive SAGD experience, starting with service on both the Management and Technical Committees of the AOSTRA Underground Test Facility (UTF).
Brian is a professional engineer in the province of Alberta. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario, and an MBA from Queen’s University.
Gerard was appointed Sr. Vice President of JACOS, responsible for Marketing, Supply Chain Management, IT and Corporate Services in May 2017. He joined JACOS in January 2004 as Manager, Marketing and has held successively more responsible positions leading to his current role. Gerard has more than 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, the majority of which is in Marketing. Prior to joining JACOS in 2004, Gerard was the Director Marketing & West Development for Mirant Canada Energy Marketing Ltd., a major US gas and power merchant marketer. Previously he headed up the crude oil, natural gas liquids and sulphur marketing group for Numac Energy, and worked for Élan Energy and Amoco Canada Petroleum Company in the crude oil and NGL supply and trading marketing group.
Gerard has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.
Tomomi was appointed Sr. Vice President of JACOS in September 2017, responsible for Reservoir and Corporate Secretariat. He has over 30 years of work experiences in the oil and gas industry, which includes management of JAPEX's producing asset in Iraq (2013-2017), taking a command of JAPEX's reservoir-engineering team over a number of reservoir characterization and IOR projects (2002-2011) and supervision of production operations on an oil field in Oman (2000-2002). He worked also on business development in Russia, South-East Asia, Africa and Middle East.
Tomomi served as an Associate Editor of SPE Reservoir Engineering & Formation Evaluation (2011-2015) and a Board Member of Reservoir Engineering Research Institute, California (2010-2013). Also he chaired technical sessions at a number of international conferences including those of SPE and WPC. He is a recipient of 1992-1993 Rotary International Scholarship and 2009 SPE Distinguished Technical-Editor Award and holds B.E. from University of Tokyo and M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University, all in petroleum engineering.
Kenichi was appointed Sr. Vice President in October 2018, responsible for Finance, Legal, and Land & Community Relations. He has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining JACOS, Kenichi served as General Manager of Canada Oil Sands Project Department of JAPEX. Kenichi developed his general administration and project coordination background through negotiations on asset purchase and proect administration in Russia and Middle East Project (1996-2005), local representation for Methane Hydrate extraction research project in Mackenzie Delta jointly conducted by Japan and Canada, and for Sakhalin (Russia) project (2005-2008).
Kenichi has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian Language and Literature from the University of Tokyo.
Bill joined JACOS in September 2013 as Vice President, Human Resources. He has over 30 years of experience, the majority of which has been assisting organizations in the Canadian oil and gas industry with the development and implementation of people strategies in support of key business imperatives. His background and experience encompasses all facets of strategic human resource management as well as leading other corporate services functions including information technology, health, safety and environment, insurance and general administrative services. Most recently he held the position of VP of Human Resources with Husky Energy in Calgary.
Bill has a Bachelor's degree in Math and Economics from Trent University and a Master's degree in Economics from Queen's University.
